April 12–14, 2025
After an unforgettable experience at Pamukkale, we hit the road on the morning of April 12, heading towards the coastal town of Kusadasi. The 200 km journey took us around 2.5 hours, cruising through scenic Turkish countryside. Reaching our hotel, though, was a bit of a puzzle—narrow, winding roads and confusing turns led us to our destination, but the effort was worth every second.
🏨 Stay at Hotel Stella: 3-Star Price, 7-Star Views
We checked into Hotel Stella, a modest 3-star property with a view that can rival any luxury resort. Our sea-facing triple room opened to a breathtaking view of the port and the endless Aegean Sea. It instantly became one of the most memorable stays of our trip—simple, clean, and perfectly located.
After a short rest, we set out on foot for lunch and a relaxed exploration of Kusadasi. The plan was to visit the Kusadasi Castle, stroll along the marina, and wander through the bazaars.
Unfortunately, the weather had other plans! A sudden downpour and gusty winds had us ducking for cover. Once the skies cleared a bit, we continued our walk, stopping for a delicious treat—baklava with ice cream at a popular dessert spot. Though the castle was closed, we admired its exterior and soaked in the views before heading back for dinner and calling it a night.
🏛️ Day Trip to Ephesus & Sirince (April 13)
We woke up to sunshine at last! After breakfast, we drove to the magnificent Ephesus ruins, just 30 minutes away. Arriving early, around 8:30 AM, we beat the crowds and bought the Terrace Houses ticket (€165 for all three of us), which included access to the ruins, museum, and the exclusive terrace house section.
Walking through Ephesus felt like stepping into history. From the Library of Celsus to the Great Theatre, the ancient city offered awe at every corner. The highlight? Without doubt, the Terrace Houses—a preserved peek into the lavish lives of Ephesus’s elite. We spent over 90 minutes there, completely immersed.
The Ephesus Museum was another treat—well-curated and interactive, it made the experience even richer. After nearly 4.5 hours, we wrapped up the historical leg and grabbed a quick bite before heading to Sirince Village.
🧿 Sirince: Wine, Crafts & Charm
Just a short drive from Ephesus, Sirince Village greeted us with a parking struggle (a sure sign of popularity!). Once in, we were swept away by the vibrant energy—cobbled streets lined with cafes, local crafts, and fruit wine stalls.
We browsed and bought handmade organic bath soaps, Turkish towels, and charming souvenirs. The blueberry wine was a hit, and the Turkish coffee experience added a traditional touch. Climbing up to see the village’s colorful houses was well worth it.
Before heading back, we indulged in gooey brownies made by local women—an unexpectedly delightful treat. By the time we left, we’d spent nearly 4 hours in Sirince, completely enamored.
🍽️ Dinner with a Familiar Twist
Back in Kusadasi, we freshened up and went to Saray Restaurant for dinner. To our surprise (and delight), they had a dedicated Indian food section. It was the perfect last meal paired with an Efes in this beautiful seaside town.

🚗 Goodbye Kusadasi
The next morning, after one last look from our magical balcony, we checked out and began our journey to Istanbul—our final stop in Turkey.
Kusadasi gave us a beautiful mix of coastal serenity, ancient history, and small-town magic. Whether it was the jaw-dropping sea view, the grandeur of Ephesus, or the rustic charm of Sirince, this leg of the journey was an unforgettable chapter in our Turkish adventure.
